Applications are NOW OPEN for the Level Up Arts Grant! The City of St. Petersburg now offers grants of up to $2,500 for small non-profit arts & culture organizations with budgets of $50K or less.

The Level Up Arts Grant is intended to provide project or capacity building funding to eligible non-profit arts organizations that contribute to the vibrant arts and culture landscape serving the diverse citizens of the St. Petersburg community. Eligible organizations must have activities focused on one or more of the Mayor’s Pillars for Progress such as Equitable Development, Arts and Business Opportunities, and Education and Youth Opportunities in the arts.

Apply by June 30, 2025 (or until funds are allocated)

Applications are reviewed monthly.

The Level Up Arts Grant supports capacity building, non-profit framework support and “leveling up” arts organizations so that they may build sustainability and be intentionally inclusive throughout the City of St. Petersburg. Applications will be accepted until June 30, 2025, at 5 p.m. or until funds are depleted.

Eligibility

Non-profits must fulfill the following criteria:

  • Operate a budget of $50,000 or less.
  • Be registered with the Florida Secretary of State as a non-profit organization.
  • Have tax exempt 501(c)3 status whose primary mission, as identified by a mission statement or articles of incorporation, is arts or culture programming, arts or culture support, or arts or culture services.
  • Have been in existence and providing services to the residents of St. Petersburg for at least one year from the date of registration with the Florida Secretary of State.
  • Present arts/cultural programming, performances, or exhibitions for the benefit of St. Petersburg residents and its visitors.
  • Does not qualify for the City’s full Arts and Culture Grant.
  • Have no outstanding debts to the City of St Petersburg, unless prior payment arrangements are in place and are current.
  • Agree to completing a customized business workshop curriculum determined by the St. Pete Greenhouse.
  • Will provide a final activity report at the end of the funding term, in the format requested by the City.

Grant Funding Policies

Level Up Arts Grants will provide funding to assist underwriting general allowable expenses of art/cultural organizations during the specified fiscal year.

Proposals may be accepted on a first come, first served basis until funds are expended.

Award amounts are up to $2,500.

The amount of each award will be recommended by the Arts Advisory Committee and approved by City Council.

Grant-funded activities cannot begin before the grant award period or extend beyond September 30, 2025.
